How to install Windows or other operating systems on a physical Synology Nas using Virtual Box. If you need to install Linux, Mac OS, or Windows as a virtual machine on an Intel or AMD based.
Is there anybody out there who got the 'ipkg' package manager running on a Synology DS412+ with DSM 4.3, or someone who knows how to do so?
I've tried to install by GUI, used the package from 'quadrat4', but a modal message occurred that it can't be installed properly.Next I tried to install via SSH as 'root'. I was following the few step-by-step tutorials I've found around the internet. But none of these variants will work for me.
After doing all the steps as described, I just get:

You don't need to comment out #PATH=/opt/bin:/opt/sbin:$PATH
in your /etc/profile, you need that path to use the ipkg
command.
Also try ls /opt/bin/
to see if ipkg has really been installed.
In 2018 (DSM6) is better to use opkg. Anyway both can be installed with:
